René Saavedra is a passionate LAFC supporter and a dedicated serviceman in the United States Navy. Due to his profession he was sent on tour for seven months, and upon his return, Saavedra decided to surprise his loved ones at Banc of California Stadium.

When the Navy man learned that he was coming back to the States, he decided to reach out to Los Angeles FC to surprise his family, to which the club agreed, and during last weekend's game, the whole stadium witnessed Saavedra's family reunion after seven months apart.

LAFC uploaded the video of the meeting to social networks where René explained how everything was planned so he could be reunited with his family at the stadium, as well as enjoying a beautiful moment on the pitch.

"I'm Petty Officer René Saavedra, the foreman of the United States Armed Forces. I'm here at Banc to surprise my family; I haven't seen them in seven months. They have no idea that I was coming home when I found out I got in touch with the team and they agreed to help me with the surprise," were Saavedra's words.

Petty Officer Saavedra confessed feeling good being able to reunite with his loved ones at LAFC game since he was part of the club before they rise to the MLS.

"It's incredible because I'm part of the 3252 before the team was formed, this is like my house."

The reunion

When the voice of the stadium announced to Petty Officer Saavedra's relatives to turned around, they began to cry while embracing him.

After that, they went to the stands to witness the match, and on the way to their places, people thanked René Saavedra for his service to the country.
