Dominant France lay down World Cup marker in Paris

And that's it! France present their credentials for the title with a crushing 4-0 victory over South Korea. 

A decent shout for player of the match, for sure.... 

Nka, who has been excellent this evening, puts in a wonderful sliding challenge on Lee to prevent a South Korea break. 

Henry in the corner on the far side... not sure that's really necessary at 4-0 up but you can't be too careful. 

Three minutes added. 

A heavy touch from Le Sommer means the training ground routine comes to nothing though. 

And France have a chance to make it five with a free kick on the edge of the area. 

That was Henry's 12th goal for her country. 

That goal brought up 20 France attempts to South Korea's two, which is really the swiftest way to sum up the gulf in class in the Parc des Princes. 

And what a strike it was! Le Sommer with the lay-off, the France skipper with a belter from the edge of the area. 

South Korea haven't given up on this and Kim chances her arm from distance, the ball taking a slight nick on its way through to the safety of Bouhaddi's gloves. 

Lovely one-touch stuff from France and it falls to Bussaglia on the edge of the area to finish the move off but her shot is just wide. That was a glorious move though. 

Lee! The substitute is clean through on goal after a defensive mix-up from the hosts but drags her shot wide of the far post! 

Free kick to France in a dangerous position on the left. Thiney takes to Le Sommer in a training ground job but the Lyon forward's touch deserts her for a rare occasion. 

Another Les Bleus change as Majri heads off to be replaced by PSG defender Ève Périsset. 

And she is, as she takes a goal kick to get proceedings back underway. 

Gauvin immediately in the thick of the action as she goes up for a challenge with Kim and the South Korea keeper comes off far worse.... hopefully she'll be able to continue. 

France also make a change, the excellent Cascarino heading off for Montpellier forward Valérie Gauvin. 

Lee Min-a enters the fray, Lee Young-ju makes way. 

It's turned into a bit of an exhibition game now for France, but the Parc des Princes crowd aren't complaining. Plenty of Olés greeting every completed pass, of which there have been many. 

France's pass accuracy rate is touching 90 percent for the game overall. They have been really comfortable on the ball. 

And finally Bouhaddi gets her glove on a ball as she plucks a cross bound for Jung out of the air with one hand. That is literally as she has had to do so far. 

South Korea still without a single effort on goal, either on or off target. Bouhaddi won't have had many quieter nights than this. 

Kim does well to beat the onrushing Le Sommer to a fine cross... 

And it's the Bleus captain who almost brings the move to a conclusion with a low shot, but Kim gathers. 

South Korea still chasing shadows as Henry brings the ball out from midfield. Throw to France out on the left... 

A 12th corner for France and Jung almost buries it past her own keeper! A 13th, cleared, now a 14th.... 

Change for South Korea as Kang makes way for her namesake Kang Chaerim. 

Majri on the charge again but her ball forward doesn't find its mark and South Korea clear. 

South Korea under the cosh again as France come forward but Diani clatters West Ham midfielder Cho to the turf and it's a free kick. 

France get the ball rolling again... 

Second half about to get underway... 

First half stats: France had 17 attempst to South Korea's 0, with 10 corners to 1. 

And that is the half! South Korea on the end of a 45-minute blue storm there and it could have been worse to be honest. France really laying down a marker for Group A and the tournament as a whole. 

A final corner for France in this first half... there won't be time for much more.

Torrent wins yet another France corner under pressure from Ji and Jang. This time South Korea hook it clear but only as far as the touchline for a France throw... 

Majri has also looked lively from the left back position and she bursts through to tee up another France chance. Pretty much ever attack from the hosts looks dangerous and South Korea are struggling to stem the Les Bleus side. Plenty for Yoon Deok-yeo to ponder at half time, which can't come quickly enough for his side. 

South Korea on a rare foray forward but France deal with it with minimum fuss. 

We picked out Delphine Cascarino as one to watch before the game and she has been a real thorn in South Korea's right side throughout this first half, her quick feet causing all sorts of problems.

Another France corner.... we've lost count now. 

What a save from Kim! Le Sommer bursts into the box and leathers a left-footer towards the top corner but the South Korea keeper makes a glorious one-handed stop! 

It's taken short to Cascarino and she finds Diani, but the PSG forward's shot is high and doesn't trouble Kim. 

Diani fancies her chances of hitting a similar shot after good work on the right from Torrent and Cascarino but is given just the right amount of nudge to put her off. Cascarino wins another corner off Jang and there's no let-up for South Korea. 

Scratch that! VAR has! Offside in the build-up! Back to 1-0 we go. 

It's Nka with a glorious volley from inside the area! No stopping that! Le Sommer with the original ball, nodded down by Cascarino, hammered home by the impressive Lyon defender. 

Yet another corner to France, who are profiting from harassing South Korea's full backs. 

Thiney delivers low and it's easily cleared. Ji is then penalised for a shove on Torrent. 

Lee concedes another corner as France turn the screw... 

The all-action Nka finds herself in the area and is picked out. In a goal of the tournament effort, she controls and turns to crack an overhead kick into orbit. Had she pulled that off though... 

France with the opportunity from the flag now as South Korea hack a clearance away. Better defending this time with a firm header from Hwang. 

France happy to knock it about for a bit and wait for South Korea to try something. Plans A and B at the moment appear to be to lump it towards the lone figure of Jung, who has Nka as a permanent minder. South Korea do win a corner though....  but it's straight into the side netting from the Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels forward. 

They're there now though as Jung tries to break through and is duly flattened by Nka. 

France in complete control of the game at the moment, South Korea are struggling to get the ball over the halfway line. 

Cascarino pulls a cross field ball out of the air with a lovely touch but commits a foul as she tries to muscle into the area. Brief respite for South Korea. 

The last time these teams met in the World Cup was in the last 16 in 2015, with France running out 3-0 victors. There's been little to suggest it'll be any different today. South Korea have yet to get out of their own half other than that early free kick. Another corner for France... 

Cascarino nicks the ball on the right and slides it to her Lyon teammate, who buries a right-footed shot in off the underside of the bar! Perfect start for the hosts... 

South Korea clear but not without some difficulty. Bussaglia is pulled up for flattening Cho as she attempted the break.

Lovely stuff from France as Le Bleus combine from their own half to the opposition area with some crisp footwork. It's Le Sommer who finds herself with the chance to shoot but she puts it rather tamely straight at Kim. 

Kim does well to reach a cross that was heading for the far post and the lurking Delphine Cascarino and somehow manages to get a goal kick out of it as well. Tidy work from the South Korea keeper there. 

South Korea try to carve a way through but find Marion Torrent in their path. The Montpellier defender goes down and ref Claudia Umpiérrez blows for a foul. 

France push forward and Henry sees the glimmer of the far post but sends her shot wide of Kim's far stick. 

Le Sommer pulled up for an early foul on Cho. The Korea attack finds it way to the feet of Lyon keeper Sarah Bouhaddi though. 

South Korea get the ball rolling! The 2019 World Cup is go! 

Le Sommer, Diani, Cascarino... there aren't many finer forward lines in the tournament. 

Here we go with the anthems. Let's be honest, there ain't nothing quite like the Marseillaise being belted out. 

The teams are in the tunnel now and we're about to get underway! 

The opening cermony is a very colourful affair, fireworks and a fly past by the French Air Force with the red, white and blue smoke trails and about 1,000 dancers. They've only got 10 minutes to shift a huge blue tarp and all sorts off the turf before kick-off mind. 

It's a sell-out in the 48,000-seater Parc des Princes for the opener. 

France captain Amandine Henry will be picking up her 84th cap this evening as she seeks to add a major international trophy to her not inconsiderable haul for Lyon of nine league titles, six French Cup and four Champions Leagues. 

Other than the USA, who have won three World Cups, Germany (2), Japan (1) and Norway (1), no other country has ever won the tournament. The hosts will be looking to change that statistic this year. 

Reigning champions USA are the favourites to lift the title again this year but could face France in the quarter-finals if Les Bleus top their group, which also contains 1995 champions Norway and Nigeria. 

The teams have been announced! PSG's Diani will lead the line for the hosts while Ji tucks in behind Jung for South Korea. Both set-ups very attacking, should be a few goals in this! 

The fans are starting to arrive at the Parc des Princes ahead of kick-off. Take up for tickets has been huge ahead of the start of the finals, nearly a million have been shifted.

South Korea: Many of the Taegeuk Ladies side in France were members of the squad that won the under-17 World Cup in 2010 and there is a wealth of experience among Yoon Deok-yeo's players. The undoubted star of the show will be Chelsea midfielder Ji So-yun but it's worth also keeping an eye on Yeo Min-ji, who won the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe in that tournament in 2010. France and South Korea met in the last 16 of the 2015 World Cup with Les Bleus victorious 3-0. 

France: The hosts are among the bookies favourites to lift the World Cup on home soil and boast some of the most exciting individual talent in the competition. A lot of Les Bleus' players represent European champions Lyon at club level and Amandine Henry, Eugénie Le Sommer and Delphine Cascarino are among the Les Fenottes stars to keep an eye on this evening. Le Sommer has bagged a staggering 74 goals in 159 caps.
