67

Chiesa chops Mere down late. No yellow but that was really late and cynical.

62

Lovely move as Ceballos plays it to Soler and he looks for the man inside. Meret out to grab it. Nice, flowing move from Spain.

49

Italy piling on the pressure again but Spain looking decent on the break.

48

Subdued start to the second half here.

Corner for Spain as Dimarco ends up on the ground. Mere pushed him over but really not much in that for a big defender like Dimarco.

46

Chiesa with a foul on Aaron as he falls over him and then pushes his head into the ground.

46

We are back underway.

Merino on for Fabian Ruiz at half-time.

Teams back in the tunnel and ready to emerge back onto the field.

They've been very physical indeed.

45+4

HALF-TIME! Great half of football.

19

Ceballos to Oyarzabal as Spain push forward again. Great start from them.

17

Soler catches Barella. He jumps up and is not happy now either.

16

Kean whistled again as he pushes Martin in the back. Fairly blatant hand on the back there but Kean's frustration grows.

16

Fabian back up and recovered.

15

Fabian limping off the field. Not sure if he can continue.

15

Fabian is down in a heap. Kean is the man who took him down as Italy look really, really frustrated after just 14 minutes.

13

Ceballos is fine as he carries the ball forward. He runs into the box. He plays it across the box and nobody is there to turn it home.

12

Ceballos is back up but he's limping. Looks like he will continue. West Ham new signing warming up.

10

Meaty challenge from Calabresi. Ceballos down grabbing his knee. Really sore one on him.

10

That was an absolutely beautiful finish.

8

CEBALLOS! GOLAZO! He curls it into the top corner.

7

Aaron crosses from the left. Headed out by Italy but Spain back on the ball.

6

Vallejo sends it back to Simon. Italy killing space very well ahead of Spanish ball-carriers.

6

Spain the better side so far. Ceballos recovers and sends it backwards as they start again.

5

Fabian fouled as Zaniolo grabs him around the waist.

4

Lovely football by Spain as it's sent out to Soler. He wins a throw. Lovely football by Ceballos and a nice pass by Fabian.

4

They win it back and they start their own spell of possession.

3

Ball sent in by Italy. Simon grabs it as it bounces in front of him. After sitting back for a minute, Italy press up on Spain and start to press.

2

Fabian will have played against all of these Italians last season. And in this stadium.

2

Fabian out to Aaron. And back inside. Spain on the ball to start here.

1

Strange line-up from Italy as five of their players stand on the halfway line and the ball is launched in that direction. Free as Oyarzabal is fouled.

1

We are underway!

Photos taken. The captains, Mandragora for Italy and Vallejo for Spain, head up for the coin toss. All handshakes and smiles as they head back to their teams for one last pep talk.

And now the Italian anthem. Di Biagio wanted the place full and looks like he has his wish. Really good atmosphere for this one.

Spain's national anthem played first.

Teams do come out on the field. Italy and Spain flags flying in the air. A lot more green white and red ones that yellow and red though.

Teams in the tunnel and ready to walk onto the field.

He ends with a 'Fuerza Italia' and we really are ready for action now.

No wait, he's still rapping.

Okay, looks like that's the end of that. Let's play some football!

We have an Italian rapper to get activities started tonight. Highly unneccessary but don't let that stop them.

So basically the exact same from Italy. But they might be more of a 4-4-2.

So much talent in both sides. Spain's midfield and attack has plenty of creativity and speed. Same can be said about Italy too with Moises Kean impressing massively in limited action last season with Juve.

Meret gets the nod in goals for Italy tonight but he says that he can't say if he will start for the entire tournament there. Let's see how that effects the keeper.

Italy's manager Di Biagio, says: "We are hoping got a great environment with 30,000 people there singing the national anthem."

Spain's manager said he was absolutely delighted with how the build-up has gone recently. He said they worked really, really hard and that they are ready to go. He mentioned the hard work and you wonder if they will be a little jaded once the game kicks off?

If you are need to know who to keep an eye on throughout the tournament, here is a list of some special players.

Eight of Spain's starters plying their trade in LaLiga. Two in Germany with Meré at Koln and Aarón at Mainz while Fabian is at Napoli.

Mayoral starts tonight. He is leaving Real Madrid this summer but wants to wait until the end of the Euros. Real Sociedad heavily linked.

Poland are beating Belgium in the other game in this group. They fell behind but lead 3-1 now.

Spain XI: Unai Simón; Aguirregabiria, Vallejo, Meré, Aarón; Zubeldia, Fabián; Ceballos, Soler, Oyarzabal; Mayoral.

Italy XI: Meret; Calabresi, Mancini, Bonifazi, Dimarco; Pellegrini, Barella, Mandragora; Chiesa, Kean, Zaniolo.

Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna is the venue for tonight's game.

Here it a look at Italy's star-studded side.

These threads from Scouted Football are all you need to know before the games.
