In a move that was an open secret, American youngster Tim Weah has left French champions Paris Saint-Germain for Ligue 1's runners-up, with the 19-year-old US international joining Lille.

Weah, who caught a lot of attention during his participation in the Under-20 World Cup with the United States, has signed a five-year deal at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Weah's deal was announced on Saturday on Lille's official social-media accounts, confirming the 10-million-euro signing of a player who spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish club Celtic.

The forward, who scored two goals and gave two assists as the US' Under-20s reached the quarter-finals in Poland, could see action in next term's UEFA Champions League.
