Real Madrid: Zidane hands Bale recall to squad for Roma trip
Gareth Bale has returned to the Real Madrid squad to face Roma tonight, but James Rodríguez and Mariano Díaz have been omitted once more.
Real Madrid have announced their squad for this evening's friendly against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico (20:00 CEST), with Gareth Bale handed a surprise recall after being left out of the trip to to face Red Bull Salzburg.
James, Mariano again left out by Zidane
However, two men who appear to have absolutely no future under Zidane are James Rodríguez and Mariano Díaz. Having also excluded the pair from Wednesday's 1-0 win in Austria, the Frenchman has again left them behind in Madrid as Los Blancos play their final fixture of the pre-season period.
Kubo, Rodrygo, Lunin all also excluded
Also omitted are Takefusa Kubo and Rodrygo Goes, despite neither featuring for Real Madrid Castilla, the club's 'B' team, in Saturday's 3-2 friendly defeat to Tenerife. There is no room in the 20-man travelling party for goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, either.
