Chicago Fire saw their hopes of reaching the MLS playoffs vanish after New England Revolution's 2-0 win over the NYCFC officially eliminated the Fire from the postseason as they slipped while facing Toronto in a game that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Chicago Fire fans bid farewell to their stadium of 14 seasons in Bridgeview, Illinois, to now move to downtown Chicago, but this goodbye might not be the only one the Fire fans will have to endure, as their German World Cup winner, Bastian Schweinsteiger is still uncertain about his future.

The 35-year-old midfielder, by far Chicago's highest-paid player , needs to decide whether or not to continue his career at the outfit, and with the Designated Player positions changes coming as confirmed by new owner Joe Mansueto, decision time for Schweinsteiger is in order.

"I don't know yet; I will see how it will be, in the next weeks I will probably decide."

Basti is confident the club and city he has called home for the past three years are going in the right direction. "I think the city of Chicago has a huge potential, I think Joe is brilliant and that he will for sure make the right decisions for the team," Schweinsteiger said.
