REAL MADRID | ØDEGAARD

Ødegaard: "I'm under contact at Real Madrid"

The Norwegian midfielder spoke to Eurosport Norway while on duty with the national team. "The idea is to respect my contract and the loan agreement with Real Sociedad".

Update:

Saturday's game between Norway and Spain will have an extra attraction - all eyes will be on Martin Ødegaard, LaLiga Player of the Month for September who is in the form of his life at Real Sociedad. The midfielder chatted to Eurosport Norway during a break in his commitments with the national team and revealed that Real Madrid are closely following his progress in San Sebastián: "I'm under contract at Real Madrid. They occasionally write to me - they tell me how they see me getting on Now they congratulate me for the good start I've had in LaLiga, and they've told me they're very happy with what they've seen".

But Madrid is not on Ødegaard's list of priorities right now - all his attention is with Real Sociedad, the club where he has been allowed to develop and where he wants to triumph: "Real Sociedad and their coaching staff are the ones who are showing me the way. They are the ones who are teaching me the tactical side of the game and how I can improve. The idea is to respect my contract and the loan agreement with Real Sociedad. I have a loan contract with Real Sociedad and I'm very happy to be part of the team. That's how I'd like it to stay until the loan comes to an end".

Spain's date with Norway in Oslo

As for Saturday's meeting when he could be up against club team mates Diego Llorente and Mikel Oyarzabal, Ødegaard added, "I don't think Spain will be especially worried about me. I know them well and I know they'll be focused on playing their own game. For Spain, it doesn't matter who they play against. I doubt they are thinking about me or Norway really in that sense".
