Slavia Prague welcome Barcelona to the Eden Arena in what will be the first ever meeting between these two clubs. The hosts are nicknamed Sesívaní - or the Sewn-Ups in English, are looking for their first win in an extremely tough group which at the moment, is anything but sewn up. Jindrich Trpisovský’s team bring up the rear in last place with just one point after the first two games, just behind Inter Milan on goal difference. Barcelona meanwhile are level on points with leaders Borussia Dortmund but sit just behind the Germans for having an inferior goal difference.

This will be a good test for both teams before they meet again at Camp Nou on 5 November. Both go into the team on the back of a decent run of results – Barça having won all of their last five games while the hosts have slipped up just once – losing 0-2 to Dortmund in matchday 2 and ending a 24-match unbeaten run in all competitions. The Czech champions were also very unlucky to come away from San Siro with just a point in their opening game which should serve as a warning to the Catalans.

Both clubs are suspensión-free. Slavia have one player ruled out through injury – Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Traoré while centre-back David Hovorka and holding midfielder Laco Takács face late fitness tests. As for Barcelona, centre-back Samuel Umtiti took a knock to his left knee in training and hasn’t been included in the 20-man travelling squad but Ansu Fati and Iñaki Peña are in the list.

The Eden Arena is a stadium that will conjure some fond memories for Leo Messi – the last time he came here, in November 2011, he bagged a hat trick, although the victims on that occasion weren’t Slavia but Viktoria Plzen.
