Neymar sued by doctor who gave birth to son

Dr. Herbert Kramer is seeking compensation on the grounds that he was not paid for pre-natal and birthing services rendered to the mother of Neymar's son.

Neymar sued by doctor who gave birth to son

Nothing that happens in the life of Neymar escapes the Brazilian media. And the latest chapter in his book of off-the-field controversies involves the doctor who gave birth to his son Davi Lucca Da Silva Santos in 2011, when the Brazilian player was 19 years old.

Last month Neymar and Davi’s mother Carol Dantas were sued by Dr. Herbert Kramer, who claims he has still not been paid as stipulated for birthing services and the pre-natal care offered to the mother.

The court ruled in favour of the doctor but could not determine the exact amount he should receive. As such, Kramer has now asked the court to take into account the amount calculated by an assessor to determine the value of the services rendered to Neymar and Dantas, according to Brazil outlet UOL.

UOL reports that Kramer had initially demanded 50,000 Brazilian reais (about 12,600 euros), but the assessor has also taken into account the work done by two other professionals who helped the doctor during the delivery – for which an upwardly revised compensation amount has been filed with the court.

Neymar and Dantas's defence

Meanwhile, the lawyer for the defence claims that Dantas paid 15,000 reais (about 4,000 euros) for birthing services for her second child born just a few months ago, indicating that Kramer was demanding an exaggerated amount for the services provided for Davi.

Kramer, on the other hand, has defended the amount claimed for his services, arguing that the price includes travelling charges for the journeys made from his clinic in Santos to the city of Sao Paulo.

UOL tried to contact members of Neymar’s camp but they had no comment to make regarding the case.
