Kylian Mbappé: Monaco's €35-million clause for PSG

According to Le Parisien, the contract between the two Ligue 1 clubs had an agreement in it that would kick in as part of a future deal.

Update:

The year 2020 will be decisive in determining the future of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé. The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer and, as he continues to ignore calls to renew his current deal in France, this has only increased in recent weeks. It appears that whatever happens, PSG will have to pay an extra €35 million to Monaco.

Mbappé payment clause

According to French newspaper, Le Parisien, Monaco included a clause in the contract PSG agreed to when signing Mbappé regarding a future move. Another applied if the youngster extended his stay in Paris. The capital club paid more than €185 million last season for the forward, which would increase to €220 million if one of the two situations materialises.

PSG have already sent Mbappé an offer to renew with the aim of putting off Real Madrid. However, the player has stated that he does not want to decide anything before the end of the season, keen to see how the Champions League pans out.
