Since he joined Los Angeles Galaxy, Javier Hernandez has attended numerous events representing his new team and he has been given a warm welcome wherever he has gone. A couple of weeks ago he was a special guest at a Lakers game and last night he returned to the Staples Center but this time to witness his first NHL game with the home team LA Kings.

The Mexican striker was in charge of dropping the puck prior to the beginning of the game between Kings and Florida Panthers on LA Galaxy night for the fans who assisted to the Staples Center. Chicharito was accompanied by his wife, Sarah Kohan, and they both watched LA Kings defeat the Panthers 5-4.

When Chicharito dropped the puck he received a warm round of applause by the fans who were at the Staples Center and he was wearing a customized LA Kings black jersey with the number 14 and his name.

Following Zlatan’s steps

Hernandez joins the list of LA Galaxy players who have dropped the puck in a LA Kings game. The last one to do it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic but former Galaxy players like Robbie Rogers and Romain Alessandrini have also performed the duty in the past.

He is not worried about not scoring yet

Chicharito has already played a couple of pre-season games with LA Galaxy but has yet to score his first MLS goal. Nevertheless he remains calm as for him, the most important thing is that the team wins, regardless who scores the goals, “I am still adapting to the league everything is going well. I am not using it as an excuse but those were only preseason games, the important one is going to be against Houston,” Hernandez said.
