Coronavirus: City vs Real Madrid postponed

The return leg of the Manchester City vs Real Madrid tie in the Champions League has been postponed as coronavirus ramps up across Europe.

Update:
Coronavirus: City vs Real Madrid postponed

Manchester City and Real Madrid's second leg in the Champions League last 16 tie has been postponed. The English side have released a statement saying the game at the Etihad will be rescheduled for another time.

This comes on the back of news that a Real Madrid basketball player had tested positive for coronavirus and that the club, all of its various departments, were in quarantine for the next 15 days.

"The decision to postpone Tuesday’s game was made in conjunction with UEFA and follows confirmation that players from Real Madrid will self-isolate for fifteen days, after it emerged that a player from the club’s basketball team tested positive for COVID-19," City said in the statement.

Manchester City sent their best wishes to "the players and staff at Real Madrid’s football and basketball teams." City had already been giving fans refunds on their tickets as the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus increases.

LaLiga has already been suspended as has the NBA, Serie A, EuroLeague and various other events around the world.
