Club América bar Renato Ibarra from stadium, training ground

After Renato Ibarra's wife dropped charges of attempted femicide against the Ecuadorian midfielder, he was released from jail on Thursday night. The same day he was walking out of custody, Club América released a statement saying that they had decided to drop Ibarra from the team and when he was a free man they let him know he couldn't return to the club's facilities to continue his rehabilitation from his injury.

América decided to drop Ibarra from the team even though he still had a contract, because they do not tolerate any sort of violence, especially if it's to the opposite gender. Ibarra was also informed that he can’t come near the Azteca Stadium for the meantime.

América take picture with the entire squad

Even though Club América are midway through the current season, they hadn’t taken the official picture that includes everyone in the organisation, from the youth to the women's team. In front of the photo was Nicolas Castillo’s son, wearing his dad’s jersey, and in the background the Azteca Stadium, home of América.

América set to play the ‘Clásico Joven’

América will host Cruz Azul this Sunday and the winner of this game will gain the number-one spot in the current Clausura 2020, with the home side also keen to avenge the five goals they conceded the last time the teams met. If there is a draw, however, León can go top if they beat Pumas.
