Cruz Azul manager: "I want my team to win title the right way"
Cruz Azul’s boss Robert Siboldi made it very clear that he would not like his team to become champion if the Clausura 2020 is cancelled due to Covid-19.
There is a small possibility that Cruz Azul will win the Liga MX title if the coronavirus pandemic increases in Mexico and the Liga MX decides to cancel the Clausura 2020. If this were to happen, Robert Siboldi says that he wants Cruz Azul to win the title the right way even though they have had a fantastic tournament so far, winning 22 out of 25 points in 10 games.
“If that happens it wouldn’t feel right and I would like to play in the playoffs so we end the right way the drought that Cruz Azul has without winning the Liga Mx. I would like to lift the title the right way,” Siboldi said during an interview for Los Meros Meros de la Raza.
Cruz Azul’s fans are very happy with the team and they believe that this is their season to end the 23-year drought without winning the domestic title. The team is currently in first place after beating America 1-0 in week 10, which was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now they are just waiting for things to get resolved and continue playing the Clausura 2020.
Rules won’t allow Cruz Azul to become champions
If the Liga MX decides to cancel the Clausura 2020 due to Covid-19, Cruz Azul won’t be able to officially win the title because the rules won’t allow them.
