Confirmed India coronavirus cases
People across India came together on Sunday to show coronavirus "the power of light" as the country battles to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
Under the hashtag #9pm9minute, Indians were asked by the country's prime minister, Narendra Modi, to turn off the lights in their homes and hold up candles, lamps and mobile-phone torchlights for nine minutes at 21:00 IST (17:30 CEST).
"We must all together challenge the darkness spread by the corona crisis, introducing it to the power of light," Modi said on Friday in an address to the nation, which is currently in the midst of a 21-day lockdown.
