"In a few weeks, we will be at the stage where the level of contagion is practically zero," the chief of the infectious diseases department at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron, Benito Almirante, said.

Sánchez: "We are seeing light at the end of the tunnel"

Almirante added that as well as an increase in the number of non-serious cases, most of those people who have tested positive for Covid-19 were attended to outside of hospital

On Saturday, Melilla became the first place in Spain to declare itself free of active coronavirus cases while Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that the country was through the worst of the crisis. "We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel," Sánchez said during a press conference.
