Lebanon's Minister of Interior, Mohamed Fahmy, issued an order to reduce curfew hours in the country and ease some restrictions related to the working hours of organizations - measures which were imposed in the country last month in a bid to contain the surging number Covid-19 cases.

Lebanese government resorted to imposing a partial lockdown following the sharp increase in cases last month, right after the Beirut's port blast that had hit the country at the beginning of August.

As per the order, Night curfew will be observed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. - ending four hours earlier than previously (10 a.m.).

The decision also implied permitting night clubs and pubs to re-open in addition to social events halls, public markets, gardens, theatres, and cinemas. Weddings can now be held with only 50% of the place's capacity occupied.

It was also stipulated that wearing a face mask is mandatory, while people should avoid congested places and maintain social distancing, as well as make early reservations if possible.

Lebanon has reported a caseload of 21,324 since the start of the pandemic, 6,722 people have recovered from the infection, while 207 succumbed to the virus.
