Radamel Falcao could join Inter Miami for the 2021 season
According to Turkish daily Hurriyet, Falcao has reached an agreement with Galatasaray to exit the club in January ahead of the 2021 start of the MLS season.
Radamel Falcao arrived at Galatasaray on 2 September 2019 and his contract expires at the end of the 2022 season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic many clubs have been affected financially and Galatasaray is one of them. According to the Turkish daily Hurriyet they have reached an agreement with Falcao to transfer him before his contract expires.
Difficulty paying Falcao’s salary
The Turkish team is struggling to pay Radamel Falcao’s salary because of the economic problems caused by covid-19. The Colombian striker earns nearly six million euros a season and Galatasaray would prefer to transfer him before his contract expires and get that cost off their books.
On Saturday it was reported that the 34-year-old and the Turkish team have reached an agreement to let him go in January’s transfer window. Back in July it was rumored that Falcao would join Inter Miami, but that didn’t happen.
Now that he will be a free agent and with his desire to play in Major League Soccer, it is reported that Inter Miami will be his next destination. A couple of months ago, Falcao expressed his desire to join David Beckham’s new franchise because of how competitive the league is and because of the amount of Colombians that live in Miami.
"I have two more years left in my contract with Galatasaray and I want to play with Inter Miami because there are a lot of Colombians there and it reminds me of my country," Falcao reportedly said in an interview with motivational speaker Daniel Habif.
