Cafu tips Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold to shine at Qatar 2022
The legendary Brazil full back said he believed Qatar 2022 would be an exceptional World Cup and that the England man would light up the tournament.
Brazil legend Cafu, ambassador for the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), has tipped England and Liverpool full back Trent Alexander-Arnold to shine at the World Cup and to cement his place as the best in the world in his position while also backing the tournament to be a resounding success.
Speaking during a video presentation on behalf of the SC, the organizing body for all projects delated to the 2022 World Cup, Cafu said: “Alexander-Arnold has a unique personality on the pitch. He has no fear in terms of reining in his natural game so he has developed quickly in a short space of time and that will help him to become one of the best players in the Premier League. There are things I would advise he do so that he becomes the best right back in the world and that is to work to maintain his natural advantages like his incredible physical fitness and the wonderful wat he strikes the ball.
“If he goes on to win the World Cup with England that will definitely elevate him to the level of the best players in the world. I had the honour of winning the World Cup twice with Brazil in 1994 and 2002 as well as playing in three consecutive World Cup finals,” Cafu added.
“Alexander-Arnold is still young and he has a great future ahead of him if he continues on the right path. I predict he will be one of the best right backs in England and on the world stage. He just has to learn to differentiate between being a footballer and an international footballer and I advise him to look at himself as an international footballer. An international understands the importance of dedication, concentration and the work ethic that helps to focus the mind in every situation and as far as I am concerned, I am sure he will be one of the stand-out players at the 2022 World Cup.”
Cafu also said he was confident that the 2022 World Cup would be a tournament to remember for players and fans: “What is being carried out in Qatar at the moment in terms of preparations for the World Cup will ensure that the tournament will be the best in history and I recommend that fans everywhere come to Qatar to see what the country has put together to make this an exceptional World Cup.”
