Hugo Sánchez demands two-year contract to manage Cruz Azul
The Mexican coach is currently in Spain for the holidays awaiting for the bosses in Cruz Azul to accept his demands so he can manage the Mexican side.
Hugo Sánchez is the top candidate to manage Cruz Azul ahead of the 2021 Guardianes tournament. Time is ticking for the bosses of La Maquina to seal the deal with the Mexican coach because their first game is Sunday 10 January 2021 against Santos Laguna at the Corona stadium.
Sánchez wants a minimum of two years
General Manager, Jaime Ordiales, is currently negotiating the final terms to seal the deal with Hugo Sánchez who wants a minimum of two years in order for him to accept managing Cruz Azul.
The Mexican coach wants time to work and he doesn’t want to feel the pressure of an early exit if the results don’t show up in the first tournament. That is why he wants a two-year contract and for the bosses to respect his process at Cruz Azul.
The last club Hugo Sánchez managed was Pachuca in 2012 and since then he has been working as an analyst for ESPN. He reached ‘glory’ as a head coach in 2004 when he won everything with Pumas Unam: the 2004 Clausura and Apertura, Champion of Champions and the Santiago Bernabéu Cup.
