A stabbing has taken place in Manhattan, injuring at least 3 people and killing another.
The incident took place on East 14th Street and Avenue A in the East Village district of Manhattan. Both police and emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the incident took place.

Police are responding to a serious incident involving multiple stabbings at 214 1st Ave. One person has been stabbed in the chest, and several others are reported injured. EMS is urgently requested to the scene

The latest reports do not give an ID of the assailant, although they do suggest that they have already been arrested and taken to police custody.

Some reports even claim that one victim, a youth, has suffered a wound to the neck which may prove to be fatal, while others say a person was stabbed in the chest. Both, and even perhaps a third, are in a critical condition. The New York Times later reported that one of the victims passed away due to injuries sustained.
To add, some reporters have been told by police that the incident occurred following a dispute. Videos posted to social media showed crowds dispersing and people fleeing the scene as the violence broke out, with one social media user covering the fallout from their flat, high above.
