Megan Rapinoe to join USWNT training camp

Megan Rapinoe will join the United States women’s national team camp from 9-22 January in Orlando, Florida. The USWNT will return to training after a 10-month absence due to the coronavirus pandemic ahead of a friendly double-header against Colombia at the Exploria stadium on 18 and 22 January.

The last time the USWNT got together was for the 2020 SheBelieves tournament in early March. Alex Morgan was not included in the current squad after announcing on Tuesday that she contracted coronavirus over the holidays.

A big credit goes to our players, team staff and overall medical staff for the tremendous work to make sure we have secure and healthy environments for our camps and games,” USWNT coach Vlatko Andonovski said in a federation release.

“And a special thanks also goes to our game operations staff for enabling us to host two matches against a talented opponent. It’s extremely valuable to play a team we don’t see that often and it’s important for our Olympic preparation.”
