Fell in love with the World Cup? FIFA is looking for 6,000 volunteers for the 2027 Women’s World Cup
With the World Cup coming to an end earlier this month it’s time to turn our attention to the 2027 Women’s Worlds Cup in Brazil starting next June.
Don’t want the World Cup fever to end? Ever wanted to go to Brazil? Well this is your chance to double down, both volunteering with FIFA during the World Cup and visiting one of the most beautiful countries with the one of the richest soccer heritages on the planet.

Next year, the Women’s World Cup, will be held in Brazil and and organizers are already planning for the biggest event in women’s sports. They are recruiting 6,000 volunteers from all around the world to come to Brazil and help run the event.
The tournament is set to begin on June 24th and will run to the 25th of July. Eight cities around the country will play hosts to matches from the group stages all the way to the final. The eight cities are Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo.
Anyone who may be interested in volunteering and joining the FIFA team can join the volunteer community at volunteer.fifa.com. You will be asked to pick a host city in which you would like to be located, and this process will put you in direct contact with the organizers who will send you exclusive updates, and notify you on when the applications officially open.
Brazil looking for first star on home soil
There are a few requirements to being a FIFA World Cup volunteer for the tournament in Brazil next year. First off, you have to be 18 at the time of sending in an application. Second, you must be a Brazilian national or legally permitted to enter the country during the tournament. Third you must be willing to commit to a minimum number of volunteer shifts while the tournament is operating from June to July 2027. Portuguese or English is a requirement, and any other languages will be considered advantageous to applicants.
According to FIFA, the volunteers will be used in “more than 20 functional areas, including Media, Technology, Transport, Competition Management and Workforce Operations. There will be over 30 different volunteering roles across competition and non-competition venues, from stadiums to airports, training sites and hotels.”
This will the 10th edition of the tournament since it was inaugurated in 1991. The first Women’s World Cup was held in China and ever since the sport, and the tournament has been growing in both prestige and in viewership. The United States has won more World Cups than any other country, with three, while Germany has won two.
Like in the men’s World Cup, Spain is the reigning champion having won the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. While Brazil is a soccer super power and produced what many consider the best women’s soccer player ever, Marta, the country has never won a World Cup. They will have a chance to lift their first and earn their first star on their home soil in less than a year’s time.
