Tom Brady's numbers worth three Hall of Fame spots
The veteran quarterback has been in the NFL for over two decades and in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is one game away from obtaining his seventh Super Bowl ring.
At 43-years-old, Tom Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks to play in the NFL and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the NFC Championship Game over the Packers, he is one win away from obtaining his seventh Super Bowl ring. His numbers speak for themselves in over two decades in the league and when he decides to retire, he has a spot guaranteed in the NFL Hall of Fame.
Brady's numbers: worth three Hall of Fame spots
Brady joined the New England Patriots in 2000, incredibly as the 199th draft pick that year. He took over the starting quarterback position one year later and during his 19 seasons with the Pats, he won six Super Bowl rings in nine appearances at the season showdown.
In 2007 the New England Patriots, led by Brady, became the eighth team in NFL history to finish the regular season undefeated and the first side to do it since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately they would lose to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl to prevent Brady from seeing out a perfect year.
During his first seven years in the league, Tom Brady accomplished more than other quarterbacks who are in the Hall of Fame such as Roger Staubach, Joe Namath, Bob Griese and John Elway. From 2000 to 2007, Brady had 86 wins, 197 touchdowns, 26,364 passing yards and three Super Bowl wins - Hall of Fame numbers, but that was just the beginning.
In his worst moments, Brady was still one of the best
From 2008-2014 Tom Brady failed to win a Super Bowl with the Patriots, but he was still putting up amazing numbers. The former Michigan State QB recorded a total of 73 wins (more than Hall of Famer Kurt Warner), 195 touchdowns (more than Ken Stables), and a total of 26,812 passing yards (more than Bart Starr). You don't need to win the Super Bowl to go into the Hall of Fame, and Brady '08-'14 would be in with a fine shout for a spot.
The later years, Brady still firing on all cylinders
Brady managed to bounce back and from 2015-2019 and he led the Pats to another three Super Bowl victories (2015, 2017, 2019). Currently Brady holds almost every major Super Bowl record for a quarterback that include most touchdown passes (18), passing yards (2,576) and appearances (10 including this Sundays’). Brady's later years would qualify any player for Hall of Fame status.
To be able to move teams at the age of 43, having been with the same outfit for 20 years, and propel them into the Super Bowl in your first season - that might even qualify for a fourth spot in the Hall of Fame...
