Mourinho has never lost back-to-back games at home in his whole career! He's 58!

Tonight could be the first time it happens!

80

LAMELA STRIKES! Mendy gets down well to save the effort.

Spurs need a goal! Still no sign of Bale. It has been a very flat performance from Spurs.

Lloris gets down low to deny Mount. Good stop from the Frenchman.

75

15 minutes to go and it's still 1-0 to the away side. Is Tuchel on his way to another victory with his new club?

Both of these teams are two of the nine teams that have been top of the league at some stage this season.

69

Spurs have finally made the required changes. Chelsea lead 1-0 but have been much better tonight.

Spurs change

Ndombele & Bergwijn OFF

Moura & Lamela ON

It remains 1-0 to Chelsea. Kovacic shoots wide. Good chance.

Spurs need some magic from these subs.

67

Moura & Lamela to come in for Spurs any minute now. Strange that Mourinho has waited so long.

Lloris does really well on a Chelsea cross. Spurs are making this too easy for Chelsea.

Tuchel worked with Pulisic at Dortmund so will know what the USMNT player is capable of. He just needs to stay fit.

Chelsea change

OFF Hudson-Odoi

ON Pulisic

64

Pulisic is warming up for Chelsea!

Hojbjerg booked for fouling the goalscorer Jorginho.

62

We're into the last half hour now. Spurs could do with making a change. Only 1-0 down but have yet to really cause Chelsea any real threat in the second half.

Rudiger shoots but Dier blocks it. He was offside anyway!

It's all Chelsea again.

Chelsea corner! almost an hour played. Still 0-1

59

Aurier stops Werner from making it two. Super defending!

Dier had to previously run off the pitch in a Spurs match to go to the toilet - but tonight he's OK and stays on the pitch.

Mount gets caught again. Free kick to Chelsea in the centre circle.

Eric Dier is down. Replays showing he blocked the ball where it hurts! Not nice on a cold wet night.

57

The Tottenham subs are warming up. We should see a couple of changes soon. Maybe Bale? Lamela is a certainty.

56

Spurs are still not capable of coming up with any answers so far in the second half.

53

HUDSON-ODOI SHOOTS! Hits it well but it goes wide of the post.

There is a lot of football being played in each team's box.

Both sides are sitting on 33 points in the league.

The rain is falling hard in London. Five minutes played in the second half and Mendy has yet to make a save.

50

Alderweireld earns a yellow for fouling Mount.

This is 7th against 8th in the Premier League.

Good play from Spurs on the front foot. Mouriho may wait a little longer before making a change.

Son to hit the free to Spurs. Aurier gets up highest but heads wide. Excellent delivery from Son. Spurs fail to hit the target.

40

Mount plays a one-two with Hudson-Odoi but ends up overhitting it. Goalkick to Spurs.

Their fifth of the game.

39

Corner Chelsea!

Confirmation of that Chelsea change.

The rain is coming down heavily tonight in London.

38

César Azpilicueta is down now! He's ok. Brief moment of concern for Chelsea's dugout.

It appears to be an injury to Silva's right knee.

36

OFF Thiago Silva

ON  Andreas Christensen

Tuchel gets a couple of words in with some of his players. The German coach will be pleased with the opening half but not with Silva's injury.

Andreas Christensen is going to come in for Silva.

Thiago Silva is down on the ground - Chelsea look set to make a change.

No hop this time!

33

MOUNT STRIKES! he drags it well wide. Weak effort. Chelsea still on top as we pass the half-hour mark.

32

Having no Harry Kane removes the important focal point for Spurs. The back three of Chelsea have yet to be really tested.

30

Spurs are looking to build from deep but Chelsea aren't letting them out of the own half.

Chelsea taking the lead is just what they deserve..

Well-taken penalty into the corner - Lloris goes the right way but it flies in. 0-1

24

GOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!

JORGINHO scores for Chelsea!

Jorginho is stepping up..

Dier takes out Werner!

23

Penalty Chelsea!

19

Ndombele strikes! Easy again for Mendy. Difficult angle to strike from but at least he hit the target.

Thomas Tuchel has earned four points from his opening two Premier League games at Chelsea. Tonight is his third and biggest test so far.

Chelsea have been the superior side in this one but the corner comes to nothing. Mourinho won't be happy with how his former side are dictating the play in the opening stages.

Chelsea win another corner from a James cross.

Chelsea have had 75% possession in the opening 10 minutes.

Harry Kane could make Spurs return against Man City, says Mourinho

Harry Kane's injury lay-off could be shorter than initially expected as Jose Mourinho suggested he should be back in time for the trip to Manchester City next week.

Kane injured both ankles in the 3-1 Premier League defeat to Liverpool at the end of January and was first thought to be facing "a few weeks" on the sidelines.

He missed the 1-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend and will also be absent when Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday, plus Sunday's home game against West Brom.

But with Spurs set to face Everton in the FA Cup in a week's time and a daunting trip to in-form City three days later, Mourinho thinks Kane could be involved in at least one of those.

That would be a significant boost as well, given Spurs have won just 34.8 per cent of their 23 games across all competitions without Kane since the start of last season, compared to 52.4 per cent with him on the pitch.

"[He's making] good progress, he's happy with the progress and of course we're happy too," Mourinho said in Wednesday's pre-match news conference.

"I think it's not a very optimistic thing to say next week he should be playing, it will be just a consequence of his good evolution.

Rudiger

Rudiger: It won't be long before Lampard has another job in management

Antonio Rudiger believes Frank Lampard won’t have long to wait before being offered another job in management and insists he never contemplated leaving Chelsea in the last transfer window.

Rudiger, who addressed the contentious issues surrounding Lampard’s departure for the first time since he was fired as Chelsea coach last week, has dismissed suggestions he played any role in getting him sacked.

Rudiger told The Athletic: "There have been so many nonsense rumours around about me since last week. I’ve never talked with the board about the situation of the coach or on any other topics."

"Frank Lampard trusted in my abilities after Christmas in a very difficult situation and I was thankful for this. It was also the main reason I told my representatives not to look for a possible winter move anymore. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be for our team to turn things around for the coach. We always wanted the best for the manager and for the club."

"He has given so many young players a chance in the first team and they are still doing an amazing job. I’m pretty sure we will see Frank Lampard back again at another club very soon."

We are just under 45 minutes away from kick-off in London!

Tuchel

What the manager's said pre-match

Tuchel:

"First of all, I strongly believe that it's Tottenham against Chelsea and not me against Jose.

"I'm very happy to compete with a strong team against his side. I'm very happy to arrive with a squad with our quality, with our mentality and with the atmosphere that we are in right now. This is the most important.

"Was he [Mourinho] a role model? Honestly, when I started my career he was so far away: like the moon from the earth. So he could not be a role model at all. I was happy to work in the academy, then I was promoted to league football and from there I just enjoyed and focused on every day.

"He is one of the best managers in the world and has created a squad at Tottenham that's very, very competitive, very, very strong. That will be the challenge for us."

What the manager's said pre-match

Mourinho:

"Harry is still out, Reguilon is still out, Gio Lo Celso, probably one more month, Dele a few more days, but no-one is coming back for this match. Serge is the only player to come back into the group."

"The Chelsea players, they are good players, and they have a fantastic squad. You look to the squad, lots of players, lots of options, so there is that potential. They have a new coach, so they have a new coach to give his fingerprint to the team.

They will play in a different way than they did with Frank (Lampard), more similar to how they were playing with Antonio Conte. Thomas is a good coach, and a good coach with good players makes a good opponent, for sure."

Mourinho calls on Bale to step up in Kane's absence

Gareth Bale has reached "a crucial moment" in his second spell at Tottenham and must help the team soften the blow of losing Harry Kane, according to José Mourinho.

The on-loan Real Madrid forward has struggled to make a major impression this season with Spurs, starting only one Premier League game. Taking into account four appearances as a substitute, Bale has played a mere 170 minutes in the English top flight this season, scoring once and creating four chances.

Barring a turnaround in fortunes in the second half of the season, his switch looks set to go down as a disappointing gamble by the club

Bale scored 42 goals and had 20 assists in 146 Premier League games across his first spell at the club, productivity which heralded a big-money move to Spain.

With Kane facing a lay-off after injuring his ankle in last Thursday's 1-3 defeat to Liverpool, head coach Mourinho wants other players to "step up".

Where will you be watching today's London derby?

The Tottenham Hotspur stadium sits under the lights ahead of tonight's fascinating London derby between two of the Premier League's biggest clubs.

Ndombele

Ndombele open to future PSG move after discussion with Mbappé

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is open to joining Paris Saint-Germain in the future after revealing he has previously discussed a move with Kylian Mbappé.

France international Ndombele joined Tottenham from Lyon for a club-record fee reported to be around £63million in July 2019, ending long-running links with a switch to PSG.

He endured a difficult first campaign in north London but performances have improved in 2020-21, the 24-year-old featuring 26 times for Spurs in all competitions.

Ndombele remains under contract with Tottenham until 2025 and, while not actively seeking a transfer, he is not ruling out the prospect of returning to France with PSG, where ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is now in charge.

"I'm a boy from the Paris region. Wearing the Paris jersey one day? Why not. But today I'm at Tottenham, and it's going well," he told Telefoot.

Mourinho vs Tuchel

José Mourinho and Thomas Tuchel will face off for the first time in their careers tonight in one of the most interesting matches of the year so far in the Premier League.

Both teams are level on 33 points, sitting sixth and seventh in the standings, although the ‘Spurs’ have one game in hand over the Blues.

The hosts will try to get back to winning ways after losing their last two league games against Brighton (1-0) and Liverpool (1-3), while Chelsea have been defeated once in their previous four outings, losing to Leicester City.

Kane remains out for Spurs in London derby

The hosts won’t be able to call upon Harry Kane for tonight's clash, while Dele Alli will also be unavailable due to a tendon injury.

Tanguy Ndombéle was forced off against Brighton through injury but he has recovered in time, while Sergio Reguilón and Giovani Lo Celso will miss out on the game.

Serge Aurier will be in Mourinho’s plans for Chelsea and Matt Doherty could feature from the start.

We'll have all the team news very shortly!
