Juventus vs Porto live online: Champions League last 16
The Champions League is back with one of the most interesting ties of the tournament’s round of 16 on Tuesday. Juventus and Porto will go head-to-head in Italy for a spot in the quarter-finals of the European competition.
The Bianconeri need to overturn their 2-1 loss to the Portuguese champions three weeks ago but they will need to raise their level, as Porto have proved to be a quite solid team in the competition.
Porto surprised the favorites in the first leg
Talented strikers Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega upset favorites Juventus in a match where the Italian side didn’t have many chances to score. However, a late goal by Federico Chiesa gave the visitors hope for a home comeback.
All eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo as he came back to his homeland after almost two decades, but he couldn’t find the back of the net against his former team Sporting CP’s old rivals.
Time for a CR7 show?
Andrea Pirlo’s hopes of going through will be based on Cristiano’s inspiration, although Juventus have been very solid at home, with 10 wins and two draws from 13 league contests.
Juventus, who are looking for a 10th successive Scudetto, are third in Serie A, with 52 points (15 wins, three defeats), four less than Milan and eight behind leaders Inter. However, Pirlo’s men have one game in hand.
As for Porto, they sit second in the Portuguese championship (14 wins, two defeats) with 48 points, 10 behind Sporting, who comfortably top the standings. Braga are third, with 46 points.
Dybala won't play
Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt will return to the squad again, while Leonardo Bonucci and Arthur played in the second half of Saturday's win over Lazio, while Juan Cuadrado was on the pitch during most of the game.
The bad news for Pirlo is that Paulo Dybala hasn’t recovered from his injury, Rodrigo Bentancur tested positive for coronavirus late last week and Danilo is suspended.
Bonucci will likely partner with Merih Demiral in central defence, while Alex Sandro would play on the left.
Álvaro Morata will probably be the chosen one up front alongside the ‘untouchable’ Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be out to add another magical night to his career.
The visitors have concerns over the availability of Pepe and Jesús Corona, both doubtul. The former Real Madrid centre-back suffered a calf strain, while Corona was hurt in an aerial collision.
Porto's Chancel Mbemba is expected miss the encounter, while Iván Marcano may also not be fit enough to play against Juventus. Marega and Taremi will feature in the attacking line.
