REAL MADRID

The knock-on effect of a Ronaldo return on Haaland and Mbappé

A potential return for the Portuguese striker could see Madrid hold out for the French striker through to 2022 when the player is out of contract at PSG.

Update:
The knock-on effect of a Ronaldo return on Haaland and Mbappé

A potential Cristiano Ronaldo return Real Madrid is gathering momentum with the idea of the striker returning just a few weeks an unlikely scenario for the Spanish club. The huge disappointment for the player at seeing his Juve side, once again eliminated from the Champions League has led to speculation that the Madeira native is looking for an exit from the Serie A side with a Madrid return one of the scenarios being considered. Such a return would see a shift in priorities for the Spanish club's executives.

Both Mbappé and Haaland are high on the Real Madrid 'wanted list' with both strikers being hailed as players for the future generation with the Frenchman just 22 with the Dortmund striker just 20-years-old. Madrid's problem currently is in the striking department with a void still present since Cristiano's departure to Turin. A return for the Portuguese would take some of the 'time-frame' pressure off Madrid and offer the club a degree of flexibility in the pursuit of the two young strikers.

The club could hold out for Mbappé through to 2022, when his current PSG deal expires with Haaland's deal with BVB permitting the Norwegian to consider offers as of 2022. A possible Cristiano acquisition would offer a short term solution for Real Madrid and help bolster the club's attacking options for the 21/22 campaign.

Camavinga

The possible arrival of Cristiano would also alleviate the situation and permit the club to consider the acquisition of Rennes' player Madrid Camavinga. The club also need to reinforce the central area with Modric set to turn 36, Kroos also in his 30s and with Isco poised to leave the club next summer.
