Santos hopes Ronaldo rumours don't affect World Cup 'dream'
The Portuguese head coach is anxious that rumours of a move back to Real Madrid don't distract Ronaldo as Portugal look ahead to the WC 2022 qualifying campaign.
Portugal coach Fernando Santos addressed the media as he confirmed his squad for the first three opening qualifying games on the Road to Qatar. Portugal will face Azeribijan, Serbia and Luxembourg with Santos looking to Cristiano to lead the line for the Iberian nation.
"Cristiano has extra motivation when he represents the national team. I am sure he will come with the same ambition, not thinking about personal goals, but focusing on those of the national team,” the Portugal coach continued.
"I know that he has a huge dream of participating in this objective, which is to play the World Cup and be able to win it. That is the main objective."
