CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Real Madrid v Chelsea - semi-final preview

Real Madrid may have the European pedigree, but Zinedine Zidane has never beaten Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Update:
Real Madrid v Chelsea - semi-final preview

Real Madrid will face Chelsea on Tuesday in the Champions League semi-finals at the Di Stéfano stadium in a first-leg match surrounded by the European Super League project controversy that has shocked the football world.

Although Zinedine Zidane’s men were on the verge of dropping into the Europa League in the group stages, they squeezed into the round of 16 and have beaten Atalanta and Liverpool en route to the semi-finals.

The hosts, following a 3-1 aggregate victory over The Reds in the quarter-finals, are also in the running for LaLiga title, although their aspirations were dented by a goalless draw against Betis at the weekend.

Madrid are second in the standings on 71 points, two adrift of Atlético and level with Barcelona, who have a game in hand. Sevilla, meanwhile, are in fourth position on 70 points in the most open title race in years.
