76ers 94-103 Pacers: scores, data, summary | NBA

The Indiana Pacers hosted the East's leading Philadelphia 76ers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers earned a spot in the Play-In Tournament with the win

The Indiana Pacers have won their second game in as many days after knocking off the Philadelphia 76ers 103-94 and have secured their spot in the Play-In Tournament.

Ninth place Pacers take down Embiidless Sixers

The Pacers came into tonight’s game at ninth in the East and on the verge of qualifying to the inaugural tournament. With tonight's win and the Chicago Bulls' loss they have stamped their spot in the qualifiers.

A win tonight could have meant top spot in East

The 76ers knew that a win tonight would have almost certainly lock up the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They will save their celebrations for another day, as they still have a commanding cushion over the Nets and Bucks in second and third.

Philly was without big man, and third leading scorer in the NBA Joel Embiid who was a late scratch with a non Covid related sickness.  Embiid’s absence didn’t seem to phase the Sixers in the early going.

Philly started on fire

Doc Rivers’ team got out to a hot start, stretching the lead out to 16 at one point in the first half. Simmons seemed unstoppable, getting to the iron at ease in the opening 24 minutes. Tobias Harris set the tone down low in the absence of Philadelphia’s star center.

Harris finished with 27, and Simmons had another complete night with 20 points eight rebounds and seven assists.

Pacers changed game with defense in second half

It all seemed easy for the Sixers in the first half, but the Pacers picked up the pressure on the defensive end in the last two quarters. Philly scored just 32 points in the second half, and allowed their one time 16 point lead to slip, delaying their Eastern Conference regular season title.

An 11-0 fourth quarter Indiana run turned the tides in a game that seemed destined to go Philly’s way. Once the Sixers lost the lead it seemed as if they lost their way on the offensive end.

Caris LeVery the hero after a slow start

Caris LeVert took control of the game in the final quarter to lead the Pacers to victory. LeVert, who joined the Indiana in January caught fire after starting the game one for his first ten field goals. LeVert ended the game hitting seven of his last ten to finish with 24 points.

Sabonis with another sensational showing

Domantas Sabonis followed up a 20-20 game with a triple double through three quarters. The Lithuanian had 16 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists in yet another incredible performance for the Pacers big man.

Play-In Tournament awaits the Pacers

Indiana will now fight to climb up the standings and battle for  positioning for the Play-In Tournament. They will rest after back to back games and host the Bucks on Thursday night.

The 76ers are still the favorites to take the top spot in the East, but will have to wait for Thursday’s game in Miami to stamp their place atop the standings going into the playoffs.
