Zinedine Zidane post-match: "We've won an important match tonight. We're happy with the victory. There are just two games left now, we have come away with a good result tonight, while also playing well. Miguel and Marvin did well from the start, Fede, all of them. We're still in the title race and I'm happy for the boys. Marvin got injured tonight, but he played well."

Thibaut Courtois post-match: "The second half didn't go so well for us. They made it 2-1 but then we found the late goals to put the game to bed. We couldn't relax and had to be aware of their counter attacks. The most important thing is the victory and to now look ahead to Sunday. Luka [Modric] looks after himself and has shown this season that 35 is only a number. He's always looking for the ball and continues to show his quality."

Real Madrid leapfrog Barcelona and move into second in the LaLiga table. A huge victory for Zidane's side with just two games to go in the league.

FT: Granada 1-4 Real Madrid

Modric fouls, free kick to Granada.

91

There will be three minutes of added-on time.

86

COURTOIS!

Courtois saves well from Quina's strike. It's hit high and hard but right down the middle.

Eden Hazard did well to tee up Odriozola for Madrid's third, breaking into the box, before sending a low cross for the full-back to fire home. An unlikely scorer and assister!

Rui Silva was all over the shop there, and Benzema scored into an empty net from 35 yards!

Benzema is substituted directly after his goal.

79

That puts the game to bed. Benzema gives Madrid a three goal lead just 60 seconds after Odriozola scored Madrid's third.

TWO GOALS IN TWO MINUTES FOR MADRID!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

BENZEMA MAKES IT 4!!!

Granada 1-3 Real Madrid

GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL

ODRIOZOOOOLA!

75

Madrid haven't been at all dominant in this second half. Granada's goal doesn't come as a great surprise.

Luis Suárez's shot is saved by Courtois, it then falls to Molina, who fires home from close range.

Granada 1-2 Real Madrid

Molina pulls one back for Granada!

Is he going to spoil the party?

71

GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL

GRANADAAAAAAAA!

66

LUIS SUÁREZ!!

No, not that one! Granada's Luis Suárez misses a sitter at the back post - that was Granada's chance to get back into the game. He mishits the cross instead of firing home from 2 yards!

The youngers are replaced by three older figures, who haven't had the best seasons by their standards.

Real Madrid changes

OFF Valverde, Vinicius & Rodrygo

ON Isco, Hazard, Asensio

Isco, Hazard and Asensio are coming in for Madrid.

60

Benzema plays a nice one-two with Vinicius, before Gonalons comes through the back of the latter. Free-kick, Modric stands over it...

56

Militao, who has been excellent again tonight, clears the corner with a header in the 6-yard box.

55

Quini wins a corner off Militao for Granada.

54

Granada change

OFF Machis

ON Suárez

54

Another yellow card - this time it's Yan-Eteki for a poor challenge on goalscorer Rodrygo.

53

Madrid are just holding onto the ball now, patiently playing one-twos with Luka Modric in the centre of the park.

49

Modric collects the third yellow of the game for a strong challenge on Yan-Eteki.

47

Reports are suggesting that Marvin has picked up a muscle injury.

Real Madrid change

OFF Marvin

ON Odriozola

Zidane made a change at the break - Marvin has been replaced by Odriozola.

46

Madrid get us underway for the second half!

Real Madrid will move into second place, two points behind Atleti if they can win tonight.

HT: Granada 0-2 Real Madrid

It's a brilliant goal, Rodrygo flies down the right wing, cuts in towards goal, before blasting home into the far corner to put Madrid 2-0 up.

Madrid double their lead!

46

GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL

RODRYGOOOO!!!!

45

Militao and Nacho have been excellent stepping in for Ramos and Varane over the last couple of months. Militao has been rock solid again tonight. Nacho offers the experience in a very inexperienced back four.

41

This time Molina picks up a yellow for a strong challenge on Casemiro, who goes flying into the Andalusian air.

39

Machis takes Granada's free-kick about 30 yards from goal out on the left. Courtois grabs it with ease. Poor cross.

38

Militao is booked for a late challenge on Molina. That's the right call.

Madrid have had the better chances here and could be out of sight already. The latest chance falls to Benzema on the left-hand side of the box, about 10 yards out, he sends it wide of Rui Silva's right post. It remains 1-0 to Madrid, but in all honesty, it could be 3-0.

33

Benzema shoots wide of the Granada goal!

31

The Madrid club doctor is talking to Zidane. It could be about Valverde.. time will tell.

Marvin will look back on that with regret. He doesn't have much experience at this level but should really be at least testing Rui Silva there.

27

MARVIN PARK!

Great chance, he's straight through on goal but drags his shot well wide. Zidane claps the effort.

Machís gets away with it, Marvin has a big hole in his sock.

25

Machís goes flying in on Marvin. We'll see what the referee has to say about this...

That Modric goal sees Madrid move onto 78 points, two behind Atleti but we still have 70 minutes to play. Zidane will be happy with his side's start.

Valverde was down for 30 seoonds after a late challenge from Yan Eteki. The Uruguayan is now back on his feet.

Granada 0-1 Real Madrid

Miguel Gutiérrez lobs the Granada defence, Modric finds himself in the inside left channel at a tight angle. The Croatian nutmegs Rui Silva with his left foot from close range to score his fifth goal of the season.

Madrid take the lead!

17

GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL

MODRIC!!!!!

Rodrygo picks out Benzema at the back post, he manages to keep the header on target, Rui Silva does well to parry it away. Madrid's resulting corner finds Nacho free at the back post, he can't keep it on target. Goal kick for Granada.

13

BENZEMA!!

Excellent stop from Rui Silva to deny the in-form striker.

Granada are about to finish the best season in the history of the club, reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League. They were in Segunda in 2019. Diego Martínez deserves huge credit for the last couple of years at the club.

7

More good play down the right wing for Madrid, this time involving Vinicius. His cross is headed away by German Sanchez. 0-0

6

Valverde plays a through ball for Marvin but Quini wins the 50-50 challenge with a sliding tackle.

Madrid were dealt a further defensive blow during the week, as Mendy was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a shin injury. Miguel Gutiérrez comes in for him at left-back this evening.

4

Rui Silva palms Modric's corner away.

Marvin Park gets a rare start for Madrid tonight. The former Tranmere academy player is playing down the right-hand side in a wing-back role.

Los Blancos beat Martínez’s men 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season. That was their 11th straight success over Granada, who last triumphed over Madrid in 2013.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético, Sevilla: schedule, next matches

As has been commonplace for much of this season, results continue to surprise in the race for the LaLiga Santander title. After we witnessed Champions League semi-finalists Real Madrid failing to score at home to Betis and apparent runaway leaders Atlético Madrid falling to Athletic Bilbao, there were four teams vying for the top spot.

Those sides them all met on the same weekend - Barça-Atleti and Madrid-Sevilla - and their share of the spoils didn't alter that view. Then to the midweek games...

Ronald Koeman's side were first up, away to Levante, and after taking a 0-2 lead, capitulated to a 3-3 draw. Has that ended their title chances? Next was Atletico, who triumphed 2-1 over Real Sociedad on Wednesday edging them closer to the title, while Sevilla remained in the conversation with a 1-0 win over Valencia.

PSG in race to sign Ramos as contract runs out at Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos' future still up in the air

Sergio Ramos' future will be decided in the next few weeks. His renewal with Madrid remains stalled and neither side has budged from their negotiating positions. Madrid are not improving their offer, which includes another year, with the same salary he currently receives and a 10% salary reduction.

Ramos' objective is to remain with Los Blancos but is asking for one more season than the club are willing to offer. The problem is that time is running out with no solution in place. There are less than two weeks to go until the end of the LaLiga season and a month and a half to go until the end of Ramos' contract with Madrid.
