Late doubts surrounding Ilkay Gundögan's fitness appear to be the only selection concerns affecting either side ahead of Saturday's Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea.

Manchester City vs Chelsea: injuries

City midfielder Gündogan, who is the team's top scorer this season with 17 goals in all competitions, withdrew from Friday’s final training session in Porto after a collision with Fernandinho.

The 30-year-old, who missed City’s Premier League win over Everton on Sunday due to a knee problem, appeared to hurt his right thigh in the challenge with the Brazilian.

However, it has been reported in the UK media that Gündogan's exit from training was a precautionary measure and that City expect the Germany international to be OK to face Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have a fully-fit squad for the clash at the Estádio do Dragão. N’Golo Kanté missed the weekend Premier League defeat to Aston Villa with a thigh-muscle problem, but has since recovered.

"Best news ever, we have no injuries, and hopefully it will stay that way," Blues boss Thomas Tuchel told reporters on Friday ahead of his team’s last pre-match training session.

Manchester City vs Chelsea: suspensions

No Manchester City or Chelsea players are suspended for Saturday’s clash.

This is thanks in part to a UEFA rule change brought in at the start of the 2014/15 season, whereby all yellow cards accumulated by players from the beginning of the Champions League group stage are wiped out at the end of the quarter-finals.

This means players cannot miss the final by picking up a single yellow card in the semi-final second leg, as they must collect three bookings in separate Champions League games to earn a one-match ban for accumulated cautions.

It is therefore only possible to be suspended for the final if you are sent off during the semi-finals.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Idrissa Gueye was the only player dismissed in this season’s Champions League semis. Had PSG beaten City in the last four, Gueye would have been ruled out of the showpiece in Porto as he was given a two-match ban for his first-leg red card.
