How many titles do the CONCACAF Nations League finalists have?

There are four teams left in the CONCACAF Nations League (CNL) and the semi-finals are scheduled to start on 3 June in Denver, Colorado. The United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras are looking to win the trophy in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Each of the four teams have won at least one international tournament, but Mexico is the CONCACAF side which has the most trophies. Before the Gold Cup was created, in 1991, the regional governing body of North America, Central America and the Caribbean competed in a tournament called CONCACAF Champions’ Cup (CCC).

There were 10 editions of the CCC and the teams that won it the most were Mexico (3) and Costa Rica (3). Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras and Canada won the championship once before the format change and was rebranded to the CONCACAF Gold Cup (GC) in 1991.

Only three teams have won the Gold Cup

This tournament is the main association football competition of the men’s national football teams from CONCACAF. The Gold Cup is held every two years and its inaugural tournament was in 1991. Since then the GC has only had three different champions: Mexico (8), the USMNT (6) and Canada (1). Now each of the four remaining teams from the CNL are aiming to add another trophy in their cabinet and book their ticket to the final at the Empower Field at Mile High.
