Two G-League players ready for the draft
The two G-League Ignite players Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga could be chosen in the top 10.
Trade talks: Sixers to trade forward Ben Simmons
It's been speculated that Simmons won't likely start the 2021 NBA season in Philadelphia. The asking price remains the same. Sixers are looking for serious talent.
Russel Westbrook to LA Lakers?
If the trade is completed, the Lakers will trade Washington for Kuzma, Caldwell-Pope, Harrell, and L.A.’s No. 22 overall pick.
Could be a risky trade as Russel Westbrook is a little older and a little expensive, plus not the best shooter. But it could help them become a much better transition team. Let's see!
Australian playmaker Josh Giddey is the first Academy graduate to be in the NBA draft
Giddey is expected to be in the top 10 to be drafted. We hope to see more Academy graduates in the future too!
Spanish draft talent in Usman Garuba and Santi Aldama
Garuba is currently on international duty with Spain in Tokyo at the Olympic Games and the player joined the Real Madrid academy aged 11 after his Nigerian parents moved to the Spanish capital.
Born in Gran Canaria capital Las Palmas, the 20-year-old Aldama is power forward and has impressed many at Loyola-Matyland college.
DRC's Kuminga set to be one of top picks
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2002, Jonathan Kuminga is shaping up as one of the greatest talents of his generation. However, his case differs slightly to Jokic and Antetokounmpo, and to most of the youngsters profiled in this article. In 2016, the small forward decided to move to the US to continue his basketball career. After finishing high school and rejecting a host of college offers, he opted to play in the G League, the NBA’s development division.
Australian point guard Josh Giddey in demand
Adelaide 36ers sensation Josh Giddey is set to join the growing list of Australians in the league when the 2021 NBA Draft takes place on Thursday.
After reigning NBA Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball was taken by the Charlotte Hornets with the third pick of the 2020 Draft, a player from the NBL is projected to hear their name called early for the second consecutive year.
Giddey has emerged as a potential lottery pick and could be drafted anywhere between the seventh and 14th selections following his exploits for the 36ers.
Green, Mobley or Suggs for Houston
The second pick falls to the Houston Rockets, who, knowing Detroit are almost certain to take Cunnigham, will be mulling over Jalen Green, Evan Mobley and Jalen Suggs. Though it seems the most likely pick for the Rockets is Green, a G League Ignite prospect who stands out for his pace and strength, averaging 17.9 points percent and 36.5 percent success rate from the 3-point line.
Pick order (first round) top 10
Detroit Pistons will have the first pick and are hotly tipped to select Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham. Averaging 40 percent from the 3-point line and 20.1 points per game, Cunnigham has been compared to Dallas Mavericks star Luka Donic, and it’s easy to see why.
