French Ligue 1 matchday 4 results and standout players
Matchday 4 has ended - Mbappé impressed, Messi made his debut, Dembele continued to find his groove, and Gouri was involved in his 15th Ligue 1 goal.
The season continues for Ligue 1 and things get more interesting. Nantes hosted Olympics Lyonnais. Even though Lyon was reduced to 10 men at one point, Dembele’s goal in the 35th minute won the game for the away team. Marseille defeated St. Etienne 3-1 with Guendouzi, Santo da Silva and Under scoring goals for Marseille. Lille defeated Montpellier 2-1 after Laborde cancelled out Yazici’s goal 2 minutes before the half. The last game of match day 4 saw Messi play in his first game with PSG against Stade de Reims on Sunday evening. He came in late in the game to replace his former Barcelona teammate, Neymar. The star of the show, however, was Mbappé, who performed a brilliant two-goal display to put PSG up 2-0 in what could be his last game for the club. PSG is now on the log with 12 points.
