Camavinga scores en route to France U-21 win over North Macedonia
Real Madrid's new signing showed his qualities with the French side, helping create the opener before getting on the scoreboard himself with this strike.
Eduardo Camavinga's life has changed quite a bit in just one week. His unexpected move to Real Madrid on transfer deadline day was liberating for the player, who began the season as a substitute at Rennes, lacking confidence with his future up in the air. And on Thursday night, ahead of him turning out for Los Blancos, the new signing shone in the victory for France U-21 against North Macedonia.
Camavinga stars in French win
He scored a lovely goal from outside the area to make it 2-0, a scoreline that would end 3-0, and had already caught the eye with a pinpoint diagonal pass in the build-up to the opener.
Camavinga started the match centrally with much of the play going through him. At Rennes it was commonplace to see him playing as the more central of a 4-3-3 formation, but today France U21 started him in a 4-4-2. The young star took a few hefty challenges during the match, which may have had his new employers a little concerned, but came through it unharmed. And it was the perfect show to Los Blancos fans of what they can look forward to.
