Can Tom Brady have his best season ever?
Although he’s a veteran and his stats are impressive, Brady has already thrown nine touchdown passes in the first two Bucs games of the season.
When most fans thought he reached his peak, Tom Brady, 44, proved to everyone that age is just a number. In the opening game against Dallas, he threw four touchdown passes in the Buccaneers victory over the Cowboys, but not satisfied with that he improved his already impressive numbers against Atlanta.
Brady threw five touchdown passes in the Bucs’ victory over the Falcons. That means that in the opening two games of the season, he has thrown a total of nine, which puts him in a good position to make more history by reaching the 77 touchdown passes.
With the win, Tampa Bay became the first team in league history to score at least 30 points in nine consecutive wins. Brady also tied a franchise record with five TD passes.
Brady vs... Brady
It seems Brady is only fighting against himself to make his history even greater. He’s widely considered as the NFL G.O.A.T. and no other player had done what Brady did at the age of 43, so now, one year later, he is trying to improve his stats.
However, sometimes personal records don’t go together with the team's success. Brady's career-high in passing yards is 5,235 back in 2011, while his career-high in touchdown passes is 50, set in 2007. In both of those seasons, he lost the Super Bowl to the Giants, so he probably doesn’t consider any of those two campaigns as his best ones.
Now the enigma is to know if Brady can keep this game level over a 17-game season. But for a player who has been impressing the NFL world for so many years, at least he deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt.
