Anthony Joshua has the chance to make history in the upcoming months. The unified heavyweight champion will face the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday in what is expected to be a highly intriguing match in London.

The fight seems to be a part of a ‘final four’, as whoever emerges victorious from the Joshua-Usyk bout is expected to face the winner of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3.

Joshua will need to be at his best to beat the undefeated and undisputed cruiserweight champion, but he has accumulated some valuable experience over the years, especially in his most recent fights.

Has Joshua ever been defeated?

Anthony Joshua has had a very successful career so far. From his 25 bouts, he has won 24, drawn none and lost once. Out of his 24 victories, 22 have ended by knockout. His only defeat came against American-Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr. in a massive upset at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2019.

However, Joshua proved to be not only a power puncher but an all-around boxer that can adapt depending on what his opponent may offer.

AJ would later avenge that loss to Ruiz Jr. in December 2019, convincingly beating Ruiz to regain the IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles.

But probably Joshua’s defining career fight so far was against former heavyweight champion Vladimir Klitschko in 2017. The Brit, who was 27, appeared to be on the brink of his first professional defeat when he was floored in the sixth round, but staged a severe onslaught to halt Klitschko in the 11th round.
