GOLDEN STATE STIMULUS CHECKS
Third batch of California stimulus checks: how to check if I received it?
The third batch of Golden State stimulus checks was sent on 6 October. This send included the first batch of physical checks as well as more direct deposit.
In light of a historic government surplus, the state legislature in California approved a bill that included the sending of stimulus checks to two-thirds of residents in the state. The checks are worth between $600 and $1,100; those with children or from a mixed-status household are able to receive $1,100 checks.
The checks are being sent to residents in the state with a gross annual income of $75,000. Unlike federal stimulus checks, the income limit is not higher for married couples who file their taxes jointly.
About 2.6 million checks have been distributed after the state sent two large batches on 27 August and 17 September. SFGATE reported that this third round of checks would be sent to around 2 million Golden State residents.
Beginning on 6 October, the California Franchise Tax Board will send the first round of stimulus checks through the mail. Many of those who had provided direct deposit information to the agency has already received their payment.
Those with a zip code ending in 000-044 will be the first to receive a physical check.
