Mbappé under pressure from PSG ultras

Update:

From the advance of Mbappé's interview with RMC Sport, one passage jumped out at me: "It's scary when your president says: 'You'll never go for free'. When I heard that, I almost choked. I was like, 'so what's going to happen here?' That's why I didn't want to react in the heat of the moment, because when I hear something that, I'm like, 'blimey!'" It reminded me of I was told not so long ago from a source inside the club: 'Mbappé is afraid of the PSG ultras'. That's what makes him most uncomfortable to be there, and no wonder. France is, when it comes to ultras, close to the level that we saw during the worst years in Argentina, when clubs used them to threaten players who were reluctant to renew their contracts.

Mbappé's renewal plan now gone

From that same source I heard that to leave Paris on good terms, Mbappé had by then (I'm talking around about a month ago) a plan to offer PSG: to renew, yes, but with a release clause of 80 million for Real Madrid. With that, the club would receive compensation for his departure, just the right amount still to be paid to Monaco. But having seen more of the interview, I think that this must now be a thing of the past. The relationship is already so bad that he has denied the version of events that the club circulated about the whens and hows of his exit proposal. He gives a very different picture and, in my opinion, one that is much more credible.

The Messi-Neymar nudge

The arrival of Messi does not appear to have proved successful in making him happy, thus far. And we cannot ignore the comments he was caught making about Neymar, even if we can argue that this is a common occurrence in the game. It is, but it does not suggest a healthy atmosphere. It is known that here Zidane complained that Figo did not pass him the ball. Galacticos don't like to share their glory. They work best when they go in one at a time, undisputed, just as Cristiano and Messi did for so many years at Madrid and Barça respectively. That's what Mbappé aspires to, and at Los Blancos he would indeed be the king of a new era, unlike at PSG where he is battling for the crown with two others. And is doing so in a suffocating environment, with the ultras on his neck.
