The Los Angeles Galaxy are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel towards the end of the season after ending their nine-match winless streak last weekend. The team with the most titles in the league (5) defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-0 to record another win in back-to-back matches. LA Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney also earned his 100th career MLS regular season coaching victory.

Chicharito provides another assist to his name

The Galaxy took care of business early in the game and before the break they were 2-0 up with Sacha Kljestan scoring from the spot and Zarek Valentin an own goal. Starting the second half, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández gave his third assist of the season to Kévin Cabral to seal the 3-0 victory at the BBVA Compass stadium.

With this result the Galaxy are getting closer to clinching a playoff spot with four games left of the 2021 Major League Soccer regular season. They are currently in fifth place with 45 points and a record of 13W-6D-11L. Their next match will be against FC Dallas on 23 October at the Dignity Health Sports Park.

Then they will have three games against teams who are in the playoff picture and a bad result could take them out of the race. The Galaxy will travel for back-to-back games to face Sporting Kansas City (2) on 27 October and four days later against the Seattle Sounders (1). They will end the regular season at home on 7 November against Minnesota United (6).
