‘Squid Game’ creator fires back at Lebron James' criticism on the show’s ending.
‘Squid Game’ creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk mocks Lebron James' sequel 'Space Jam' after his comment on the show’s ending, “Have you seen Space Jam 2?”
Earlier this month, Lakers' star Lebron James was heard chatting with teammate Anthony Davis over the series, ‘Squid Game’ in a post-press-conference. Giving their honest opinion about the show, James mentioned that he “didn’t like the ending”.
In an interview with The Guardian on Tuesday, when asked about Lebron’s comment on the show, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk giggles and says, “Have you seen Space Jam 2?” That’s a clear slap at James for his animated/live-action sequel of the children’s hoops hit, ‘Space Jam’: A New Legacy’
He goes on to say, “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending.”
Before that comment, so much attention around the world has been about the ‘Squid Game’ series, but 24 hours later, attention has quickly pivoted to the brains behind the show, Hwang.

Honestly, we don’t expect any less self-assurance from the creator and director of Netflix’s biggest ever show. But James sure did. He notes his surprise on Hwang’s comments in his recent twitter post:
Thank you Lebron James and Hwang Dong-hyuk for adding two more films on our Netflix list-to-watch.
