The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update is launching on Nintendo eShop on November 5th (and probably on the 4th in the US), 2021.

Regarding the launch times, there is no official announcement but according to the previous updates, it is possible that the new content would go live at 10 AM Japan Standard Time. Due to the time difference between Japan and the United States, the content could be available for download on November 4th around 9 p.m. Easter Time in the US.

What new content is included in the 2.0 update?

The new free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings back some characters from previous games, new facilities and mechanics to further improve the gameplay.

The Roost, a new café run by Brewster. This pigeon character is back on the franchise running a café at a new location in a corner of the museum where players will be able to enjoy coffee and invite friends.

Visits a mystery island with Kapp'n. Players will be able to travel to uncharted islands through Mystery tours run by Kapp'n the charismatic green turtle (or kappa in Japanese folklore). There are places where players will have the chance to collect rare materials, fish, bugs, fruits...

Dig and find gyroids. Besides fossils, gyroids can also be found and collected after digging. Each of them has unique sounds and you can place them as a new decoration.

New plaza in Harv's Island. The home of Harvey is receiving some upgrades like a new plaza that will work as an open market where players can find new shops and services. Reese & Cyrus's shop will offer special furniture that can't be crafted and Katrina will be able to look at your fortune of the day. There will also be new hair styles that Harriet can teach players.

Cooking and DIY recipes. Now players can cook the vegetables they have grown alongside other ingredients to create several dishes that can be used for decoration or for eating, earning players power-ups.

Ordinances for your island. Nook, Inc. will offer the possibility of establishing several options that will help players to adapt their island to their lifestyle. For instance, as stated by Nintendo, players can decide to make all residents get up early in the morning or reduce the rate at which weeds grow.

Happy Home Paradise DLC. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also welcome a paid DLC on November 5 that will allow players to expand their island, designing vacation homes for different characters according to their interests and preferences
