MLS: LAFC targeting Antonio Mohamed to replace Bob Bradley

Last week Los Angeles Football Club parted ways with Bob Bradley and the search for a new manager is on ahead of the start of the 2022 MLS season. There are several names on the list, but according to various reports Antonio Mohamed is the priority for the MLS side.

LAFC wants to bring Mohamed to Major League Soccer and they believe he is capable of continuing the project that Bradley started in 2018. The Argentine manager has managed several teams throughout his career and gained a lot of respect while coaching in Liga MX.

Other names on the list to take over the managerial job at LAFC are Kenny Arena, Ante Razov, Steve Cherundolo, Jason Kreis, Par Nonas and Landon Donovan. LAFC will have to make a decision soon because the 2022 season is scheduled to start the last week of February.

Mohamed honours as manager

Mohamed won the Liga MX title with Xolos (2012 Apertura), Club América (2014 Apertura) and CF Monterrey (2019 Apertura). But in his last season with ‘Rayados’ things were not working as expected and the bosses decided to part ways at the end of the 2020 Apertura campaign. Mohamed has been a free agent since then.

He also won the Copa Sudamericana in 2010 with Independiente and achieved a third-place finish in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019. Mohamed has also experience managing teams in Europe: he was appointed head coach of Celta Vigo in 2018, but was sacked after 12 matches.
