Sergio Ramos available for Coupe de France clash
The Spanish centre-back could make his second appearance for PSG since joining in July. Pochettino's side face SC Feignies in the Round of 64 on Sunday.
Sergio Ramos made his debut for PSG on 28 November but that remains his one and only appearance for the club he joined as a free agent over the summer. The 35-year-old defender has missed the last four games due to muscle fatigue which has also impeded him from training alongside his team mates. This week, the former Real Madrid captain has been able to train as normal and PSG confirmed that he is no longer of the injury list. Coach Mauricio Pochettino referred to him in his press conference ahead of Sunday's Coupe de France tie. "Sergio has been training well, we'll see if he makes the subs' bench or plays tomorrow," he said.
Cup clash as National 3 minnows
PSG take on modest outfit SC Feignies, who play in the National 3 league - the equivalent to the Fifth Division, in the Round of 64. It's a game which won't necessarily require great physical exertion and it's a great opportunity for Ramos to build up rhythm. The objective is for Ramos to gradually build back his fitness so that he is at 100% for the Last 16 Champions League meeting against his former club Real Madrid in February.
Ramos moved to Paris on a free transfer in July. Since then he has played just one game - against Saint-Étienne at the end of last month. He played the full 90 minutes but ended completely worn out and with muscle fatigue that kept him from training with the rest of the squad. Now he is match fit and ready to show that he is still able to comete at the top level.
