USMNT: Not making the Olympic qualifying team changed Ricardo Pepi’s career
The FC Dallas striker was not included in the United States Olympic qualifying roster and that was a turning point in his career.
Ricardo Pepi was not included in the United States Olympic qualifying roster that failed to book their ticket to Tokyo this summer. Nine months have passed and the FC Dallas striker talked about how that was a turning point in his career.
"It just made me hungry," Pepi said. "It made me hungry to go on for the year. To do good for my club, do good for the national team and it was a turning point, for sure, in my career."
Pepi talked about his future
The United States men’s international team striker finished the 2021 MLS season with 13 goals for FC Dallas and it has been speculated that several UEFA Champions League clubs are keen on signing him. Pepi has stated that he is ready to make the switch and he is not sure if he will return next season.
"That moment is not yet to be decided," Pepi said. "I feel like I have a game here ahead of me and that's my main focus at the moment. I feel like we got to focus on the game and whatever happens is gonna happen, but we just got to be patient."
