West Ham keen on signing NYCFC’s Valentin Castellanos
The 2021 MLS Golden Boot award winner is ready to make the switch to Europe and West Ham United want to bring him in during the next transfer window.
New York City Football Club won the 2021 MLS Cup and Valentin Castellanos made a great contribution with his goals across the entire campaign. The Argentine won the Golden Boot award with 19 goals during the regular season and now it seems that he is ready to make the switch to Europe.
Castellanos: Premier League a possible destination
It is going to be very difficult for NYCFC to retain the under-23 international because several teams are keen on signing him during the January transfer window. It was confirmed that the MLS club rejected an offer from Besiktas and Palmeiras already, but more are on their way.
Even Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola said that Castellanos is a quality player that will end up in Europe sooner rather than later. New York City FC is the Citizens sister club in the United States and reporters asked the Spanish manager about the Argentine.
Castellanos is valued at almost $20 million and NYCFC won’t accept anything less. According to the latest report, West Ham United are interested in bringing in the Argentine striker for the second half of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
