Mbappé agrees deal to join Real Madrid on free transfer - Bild
Bild has reported that Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé has reached an agreement with Real Madrid over a summer move to the Bernabéu.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, Bild has reported.
According to the German media outlet, the France international will earn a salary of 50 million euros a year at the Bernabéu.
Real Madrid to wait until after PSG tie to confirm transfer
Mbappé, 23, is out of contract at PSG at the end of June, having rebuffed the Ligue 1 club’s attempts to tie him down to a new deal.
Bild adds that Madrid plan to wait until after their upcoming Champions League tie against PSG before announcing the deal.
Madrid have been drawn against the Parisians in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition, with the two-legged tie due to be completed on 9 March.
Madrid failed in attempt to buy Mbappé last summer
A long-term target for Madrid, Mbappé was the subject of three unsuccessful transfer bids by Los Blancos last summer, and has since said publicly that he wanted PSG to let him depart.
“My position was clear - I said I wanted to leave and I said so at quite an early stage,” Mbappé told an interview with French radio station RMC Sport in October.
Mbappé joined PSG from Monaco in 2017, initially on loan. He has scored 130 goals in 155 appearances for the club, winning three Ligue 1 titles and helping Paris to the 2019/20 Champions League final, which they lost to Bayern Munich.
A World Cup winner with France, the forward has been capped 53 times by Les Bleus, scoring 24 international goals.
