Pro Bowl | NFC 35-41 AFC, AFC win fifth consecutive Pro Bowl - summary, score, stats and highlights | NFL

Update:
The NFL's top talent comes together for a showcase matchup from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The AFC and NFC's sides kicked off at 3 p.m. ET.

Pro Bowl 2022: as it happened

The AFC won it’s fifth Pro Bowl in a row in a not so spectacular spectacle in Las Vegas. Hometown hero Maxx Crosby was named the Defensive MVP in the 41-35 win over the NFC.

Not much for tackling or intensity in first half

It was never going to have the intensity or suspense of a regular season game, and it was far from what have experienced over the course of the last month in the NFL Playoffs, but the Pro Bowl recovered from what was a putrid first half to entertain those die hard fans that can’t miss a single minute of football season.

There was a medley of quarterbacks who played for both side, and each and everyone of them ended up throwing an interception. In fact, there were three pick sixes in the before the 10 minute mark in the second quarter.

Leonard gets first of three pick sixes

Kyler Murray was intercepted on the first possession of the game, and Darius Leonard took the interception 45 yards for a touchdown for the games first score.

Four plays later the NFC evened it up with a Kirk Cousins pass to Kyle Juszczyk. That tie lasted exactly seven seconds, before Justin Herbert connected with Mark Andrews for the first of two touchdowns by those two.

With the turnovers, and touchdowns, the first five minutes took about a half of an hour.

Winfield gets a pick six for NFC

The opening quarter came to an appropriate end as Patrick Mahomes was intercepted by Antoine Winfield Jr. and he took it 63 yards for the pick six to make it two in the first quarter.

On the ensuing 4th and 15, which was chosen by the NFC instead of giving possession back to the AFC, as per a new rule in the Pro Bowl, Cousins was strip sacked and Myles Garrett picked it out of mid air for what was considered a fumble recovery for a touchdown to take the 22-13 lead.

Murray had 3 TDs in losing effort

Murray and the NFC cut into the lead with the Arizona QB’s first of three touchdowns on the day. He threw up a prayer which was answered by Mike Evans on the 19 yards TD. Murray ended the night with three touchdowns on 18/27 passing and 160 yards.

Just before the halftime break the AFC extended the lead with the second touchdown pass from Herbert to Andrews to head to the half time break up 28-21.

Things seemed to pick up in the second half, and it started with the first drive of the game. Mac Jones drove the AFC. The drive gave us our first actual tackle, instead of the two hand touch we saw in the opening two quarter. Jones hit Hunter Renfrow in the back of the endzone for a six yard touchdown.

AFC start third quarter strong

The third quarter was dominated by the AFC who stretched the lead to 41-21 with a Stefon Diggs five yard touchdown run.

Mac Jones shined as a rookie, so too did Kyle Pitts who had a 5 yard TD reception from Kyler Murray to start the fourth quarter.

Marshon Lattimore made things interesting late in the fourth, when he picked off Justin Herbert, which set up a Dalvin Cook five yard touchdown run.

NFC had a chance at a 4th quarter comeback

Mac Jones and the AFC would get the ball after NFC coach Matt LaFleur declined to go for the 4th and 15 that would have got them the ball back with a conversion.

Jones hit Najee Harris to move the chains and seal the game, making it five straight victories for the AFC.

Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby won Defensive MVP in his back yard after registering five tackles, two sacks and three tackles for a loss bringing the intensity to a game that lacked it throughout. Justin Herbert was awarded Offensive MVP, going 7/11 for 98 yards and two touchdown.

Crosby looked like the MVP all game long and he was honored after the game along with Herbert

as.com

Jones after converting the game winning 4th down. He looked like he had the most fun of anyone today.

On 3rd and 6 Jones was "stopped" short of the marker, but carried on and then did the Griddy, paying homage to Justin Jefferson

as.com

Murray tightened up the game on 4th and Goal

as.com

Lattimore making sure that no QB was left out. Each and everyo one of the QBs threw a pick in the Pro Bowl

Crosby did not take his foot off the gas all night long

A.J. Cole had himself a night.

The rookie Pitts getting in on the action.

Diggs with a rare run, let alone rushing TD

as.com

Jones to Renfrow after a 95 yard drive for a TD

as.com

The Diggs bros moment was good, but this was the best

as.com

One of the cooler moments of the day, the Diggs brothers going toe to toe, but it was Trevon as WR and Stefon as DB

as.com

Neither punter was used all game long. They probably knew they had a light work load coming into the game. A.J. Cole said he ate more hot dogs than he had punts

as.com

Evans picks it out of the sky for the TD

as.com

Garrett had a gift land right in his hands, and he did the rest of the work from there.

as.com

Winfield gets a pick six for the NFC

as.com

Andrews had two TD's on the day, this was the first

as.com

Juscyzk evens things up with the first offensive TD of the game.

as.com

Leonard takes it to the house for the first of three pick sixes on the day

as.com

GAME OVER!!! AFC WINS!!!

It wasn't pretty, It wasn't always entertaining. All that's left is the MVP trophy celebration and I would think Crosby would be a great candidate for the award under his home roof.

as.com

Jones over the middle to Harris and that is going to do it! The AFC will win their 5th consecutive Pro Bowl.

Jones got in the face of one of the defenders joking around and that's a great ending to a game that got progressiely more entertaining.

as.com

On 3rd and 6 Jones tucks and runs and gets two hand touched which was enough to get the refs to blow the whistle, but he broke through it and took it to the house anyway and hit the Griddy, giving an homage to Justin Jefferson.

4th and 2 coming out of the Two Minute Warning

as.com

LaFleur and the NFC aren't going to go for the 4th down, they are going to play defense and use their timeouts hoping to get the ball back

as.com

TOUCHDOWN NFC!!!

Cook with the 5 yard TD reception from the Murray pass and just like that we have a game on our hands!

Big 4th and 15 coming up

as.com

Lattimore picks off Herbert, and the NFC might have a chance to tie it up or take the lead in the final 3:47. They need a quick score and then will need their best 4th and 15 play after the score.

as.com

Crosby gets a sack on Wilson and you got to give it to him. He has been the only one looking like he's excited to be here and by playing in the Pro Bowl.

as.com

A rare run to Connor for the NFC on 3rd and 2. He didn't pick up a yard before the D line held him.

as.com

Both teams are a total of 0/8 in on those 4th and 15s after scores. Maybe not the best sample size in a game where teams are playing at half gas, but I think the league should look into thinking about swapping that for an onside kick.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN NFC!!!

Another rookie making an impact!! Kyle Pitts with the TD pass, and that's the first of the second half for the NFC.

as.com

It's nice to see the offenses keeping hold of the ball. That first half was a bit out of control.

as.com

That third quarter went by pretty quick... And all that talk about fans leaving the stadium, forget about that. It looks like there are even more fans now than there were in the first quarter

as.com

How great would it be if we get a chance to see the Diggs brothers in the open field. Would they lower the pads on each other?

as.com

This might just become a battle of the Diggs brothers.

as.com

Jones hits Renfrow in the back of the endzone

as.com

This is the MVP of the game so far.

as.com

Bro on bro

as.com

Andrews with TD number 2

as.com

Lets get you back on track with some of the highlights of the second quarter and this early third quarter.

Evans with the catch in the endzone Murray

as.com

TOUCHDOWN AFC!!!

Not a bad drive to start the second half. Jones drive the AFC 95 yards down the field and hits Hunter Renfrow for the TD pass.

That was mildly entertaining, I'm not going to lie. AFC leads 34-21

as.com

Johnson getting some looks to start the second half. Didn't see him in the game in the first half, he's making up for lost time.

as.com

Parsons laying a lick on Johnson, and hey now!! Maybe we will get some hits, some pressure, some intensity coming in this half.

as.com

We are underway in the second half of action. Let's see if the intensity picks up a bit in the last 30 minutes

as.com

It took 29 minutes but we just had our first tackle. Quinn dropped Renfrow as the clock winds down below a minute left in the half

as.com

The Diggs brothers matched up against each other, but it's Stefon playing DB and the Tyron as WR in a little role reversal.

as.com

We are at the two minute warning. I'm curious to know how many fans will head out at the half time break. I wouldn't be surprised to see even more empty seats at the start of the second half.

as.com

There has yet to be a 4th and 15 converted by either side. Both teams have tried after every score, but no one has picked up the 15 yards.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN AFC!!!

Andrews with his second TD of the day after Herbert finds him in the back of the endzone for a 7 yard reception.

AFC leads 28-21 with 5:01 to go in the second quarter

as.com

Jones was incomplete on a 4th and 4, but the AFC get it right back after Wilson is picked off by James a play later

as.com

Mac Jones is in the game, and who would have thought that he would would be the Rookie QB representing last draft class. that saw 5 go in the first round.

as.com

We are 20 minutes into this game, and there has yet to be a body hit the ground. Understandably no one wants to hit or get hit in the Pro Bowl, but it is for sure diluting the quality of this game.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN NFC!!!

Murray scrambleing and launches up a prayer that is answered by Mike Evans, who skys for the jump ball in the end zone, and for the first time in a while we have an offensive touchdown.

The NFC trail the AFC 22-21 after the two point conversion.

as.com

The home town guy Crosby has batted down three or four passes at the line already. He's one of the few that look like they are playing close to full pace.

as.com

We have a total of 6 turnovers in this game. Four from the NFC, 2 from the AFC.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN AFC!!!

On the 4th and 15 after the touchdown Watt gets to the QB and swipes it out of his hand,

Garrett takes the interception back 22 yards. That's three pick sixes in the first 16 minutes of the game.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN NFC!!!

Another interception, and this one is taken back to the house by the NFC. Winfield takes it 64 yards back after the interception.

There may be a lot of interceptions being made, but don't believe that means that the defenses came to play.

We are all square at 14-14 through the first quarter.

as.com

Our second pick of the game! Don't get too used to it, there haven't been many good defensive plays. Jackson made a great play in the endzone after the tip from Juszcyk

as.com

Herbert squeezes it through for Andrews for the TD

as.com

Poor tackling for good causes

As you can see below, there's a lot of good coming out of tonight's game.

as.com

Big Juice with the TD to make it 7-7

as.com

Let's take a break from the action to get you up to date on some tf the hard hitting highlights. Starting with Leonards pick six.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN AFC!!!

Andrews with a sliding 15 yard TD catch to give the AFC the lead.

We are just 5 minutes into this game. This game may not end until  Super Bowl Sunday.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN NFC!!!

Juszczyk on the 14 yard recepetion down the middle, untouched mind you, for the TD to tie the game up at 7.

as.com

The new rule is kind of interesting. The team that scored gets a chance to keep the ball if they convert a 4th and 15.

I'm sure it's a long way away from being even considered from being implented in the league, but they could be testing the waters for a cure to the terrible on side kick rule that has taken comeback bids out of the game a bit.

as.com

TOUCHDOWN AFC!!!

Murray is picked off by Leonard and he takes it 48 yards for the pick six.

The AFC lead 7-0 early on.

as.com

Just watching the first possession, you start to understand why ratings go way down.

as.com

Three plays in and you can tell that the level of play, the intensity, and the hitting goes way down in these games.

as.com

We are underway from Allegiant Stadium!!! There will be no kickoffs in the Pro Bowl this year, as the NFL looks to avoids injury.

Kyler Murray and the NFC start with the ball at the 15.

as.com

Coverage has started from Allegiant Stadium. It must be said, there are quite a few empty seats around the stadium. It is Las Vegas, and there are other things to do, but come on.. Football season is winding down. We have to enjoy each and every moment we have left.

as.com

Who will be spiking their way into the endzone today?

as.com

As we get ready for the Pro Bowl,  I have NFL Network on and they have the Pats comeback of the Falcons from a few Super Bowls ago. What a game that was, will we have a similar one in store next week?

as.com

Must be bittersweet for Mahomes, who looked like he was on his way to the Super Bowl through two quarters in the AFC Championship.

as.com

Why wouldn't there be a red carpet for the guys playing in today's Pro Bowl from Las Vegas?
