The Super Bowl is almost here and we thought we'd enlighten you a bit before this year's big event with some facts about it that you may not have known.

The Super Bowl has been around since 1967, blessing us with another day to dedicate to food and football (besides Thanksgiving). Speaking of which, did you know that the Super Bowl is the second-highest day for food consumption in the U.S.? That's after, you guessed it, Thanksgiving. An impressive 8 million pounds of guacamole is consumed on that day each year. I will not say how much of that I personally contribute to, as it is not something I am proud of, but hey. Super Bowl Sunday only comes once a year!
